eCollege Vista - The Big Picture

Realizing that faculty may be coming into eCollege Vista from various levels of experience, it is difficult to produce a linear guide for operation. Here are some basic guidlines of the process you might follow depending on which suites your situation.

1. Get familiar with the eCollege Vista environment
2. Build a template
3. Prepare course subject componets
4. Assign the tempate to the section
5. Teach the class section
6. Promote the section to a template

 

• Faculty who have taught the specific subject with WebCT only

  
  

  1. Convert your course content to eCollege Vista format following " eCollege Vista Convert"
     1. Zip all course files in WebCT course
     2. Export Content Modules from WebCT
     3. Export Quizzes/surveys/Question Database from WebCT
     4. Download zipped files from WebCT
     5. Copy discussion and assignment text from WebCT
  2. Get familiar with the eCollege Vista environment
  3. Build a template
  4. Upload all zipped files to the template
  5. Import Quizzes
  6. Import Content Modules
  7. Prepare and evaluate course subject componets
  8. Assign your template to your section
  9. Teach the class section
  10. Promote the section to a template
