A graduate of Lamar University, I have
my masters degree in Art History with an emphasis in Renaissance
Studies. I received my undergraduate degree from Our Lady of the Lake
in Liberal Studies. Currently, I teach a variety of web based classes
in Art History .
My other passions in life include
learning foreign languages [Italian ,French and beginning Spanish] and
anything related to technology and graphics. During the times I am not
teaching, I enjoy traveling to Europe and learning about new cultures.
Because of this, I am always interested in foreign students and their
experiences here in Texas.
Students are clearly the very best part
of my job. It is energizing to participate in their intellectual
enrichment. I also firmly believe in goals, responsibility and
accountability to prepare students for the real world.
I am of the opinion that reading is
the important key to intellectual strength. With the increase in
popularity of film and television, we often don't take the time to
read. Although the internet requires reading, the amount of time spent
on a web page is brief and in depth comprehension of the topic is
minimal. The courses that I teach are based on a significant amount of
reading, comprehension and critical thinking. Once one is immersed in
the topics, they are fascinating.
I hope to give the students an insight
into the visual culture as influenced by socio-political events of
history. It can be a new and fascinating look at our world.
