About the InstructorI have had different occupations over the years. Of these, there are three that stand out as special. The first is the time I spent serving my country as a member of the armed forces. My field was Military Intelligence. During my time in the Army, I served in Central America and as part of the 101st Airborne. The second occupation that stands out is the period of time I spent in social work and some counseling. These years saw me working to help improve the options open to gang members, pregnant teenagers, skinheads, substance abusers, ex-convicts, people with mental illness, and the homeless to name a few. The last job that stands out is my current profession. I truly enjoy being an instructor here at Lone Star College - Montgomery. I also believe that humor can help the learning process. This is apparent in the classroom- at least I hope so! J. D. Cootz |
