Welcome!
History helps
us understand ourselves and our environment.
Better ourselves and our society by using methods and strategies that
have proven to be successful.
History is what
we make it to be: how we view history, and whose perspective we chose to look
at and understand.
History is
alive. It is with and within us everyday
and everywhere. Our society, culture and
institutions have all been developed over time.
Everything we do will be part of history.
In my
classes, I try to
demonstrate the relevance of history as it applies to who we are and how we
live. I see economics and control to be
powerful forces that shape people, events, culture, and institutions. We will also probe into other factors such as
social, cultural, ethnic/racial, political, and international forces. We will critically analyze causes and
effects. This means that you as the
student have the responsibility to actively engage with historical information
and current events. To be successful in
the class, take one assignment at a time and try not to procrastinate. While history may not be your passion, I hope
you come to realize how history influences us and impacts our lives.
I hope to see
you in my class. Good luck in all you
want to accomplish!
