Intro to Theatre

Course
Description:
This course will introduce the student to
various elements that compromise theatrical production.
It will also familiarize students with terminology and
concepts that are prevalent in theatre. Elements
include plays, theories, history, the stage, makeup, costuming, acting
and directing.

Requirements:
- Each
student will participate in two “production teams.” These teams
will meet
during class time to prepare a presentation of their production ideas
to the
producer (the instructor)
- Each
student will evaluate themselves and their fellow team members after
the
conclusion of each production team presentation. These
evaluations will
be submitted in typewritten form
- Each
student will attend two (2) LSC-Kingwood theatrical productions and
will submit
a written evaluation for each production
- Each
student will complete nine online (9) quizzes covering information from
the
readings
- Each
student will participate in classroom activities and discussions
